Hannah Malekzad

My name is Hannah and I trained at June Glennie from the age of three. Firstly learning ballet and then later tap and modern. Each year I took part in their fabulous shows, I think my first was "on the good ship lollypop". Even now I have left, I always come back to see the June Glennie shows, as it reminds me of what a wonderful time I had and I am always astonished at the outstanding quality of dance and professionalism.

I am currently training at Arts Educational in London. It is a three-year degree course and I am now in my third year.

At Arts the first two years are spent teaching you technique and preparing you in the world of performing. The third year is all about performing and being confident on stage. In order to do this we perform a series of different shows which agents and casting directors are invited to come and watch. I am currently rehearsing for Jesus Christ Superstar and am playing the role of Mary Magdalene. These performances should hopefully result in every student entering the business fully prepared, with a professional attitude and a good agent.

I have enjoyed my time at Arts because we are taught so much in what feels like such a short period of time, learning the art of dance, singing, acting, voice overs and various other techniques all imperative when entering the world of show business. Also learning how to look after ourselves financially. It is a tough course but I have loved every minute of it and could not have gotten here, and been so well prepared without the vital experience I gained at the June Glennie School of Dance!

I still keep in touch with all of the amazing friends I made whilst learning to dance at June Glennie and for everyone who is still there, really make the most of it, as you are very lucky to have such fantastic teachers at such a crucial stage of your training!
