Lauren Smith

Lauren trained with the June Glennie School up to the age of 16. She then attended The Kate Simmons School in Warrington from where she will finish this year.

While she was with us Lauren achieved so much at numerous

festivals, All England, Modern, Tap and Ballet Awards. She also won the prestigious ISTD Dancer of the Year, not once but twice.

Now with Late Simmons, in October 2007 she won the Cyril Beaumont Award and received £1000 towards further dance training. In November 2007 she won the Fewster Competition (held for professional schools to help further training) and another £1000. Now in January 2008 she has just won The Barbara Geoghegan Award. This is held annually in London and follows the Cecchetti method. For this she received £600 and £400 worth of vouchers for dance wear.

Lauren is currently travelling round Europe auditioning. She has just tried for the Danish Royal where there were over 500 other applicants. She got down to the last 12 and is now awaiting a letter to tell her the result. This weekend she is off to Germany

We all wish her the very best of luck!
